For six months, Connex Credit Union will be working closely with four participants to see who can become the most fiscally fit to win a $3,000 grand prize. Each participant has been paired with a Connex Financial Advocate who will offer real-world, practical advice on how to reduce debt, build savings, and many other helpful financial tips and advice. Connex received over 100 applications for the sixth annual ConneXfactor competition! Below is the next update on Justine J.
Justine J.: It Pays to Stay Home
Coach: Gezim Stroka, Branford Branch Manager
There are just a few more days until ConneXfactor is over on October 1! Justine is doing all she can to finish the competition strong. Since she moved out on her own again and rented her an apartment, she did have to use some of the funds in her emergency savings account to furnish her place.
To get back on track with her finances and save money, Justine is cooking at home most of the time and spending less on entertainment. She’s finding things to do at home, and enjoying just being in her new apartment in general. Staying at home means more money staying in her bank account!
Despite the unexpected move and some financial hiccups from the summer, Justine is confident that she is going to finish the competition on a high note. She is doing all she can to consistently put money aside, so that she will meet the goals we set in the beginning the of the competition. So far, her journey has been challenging, exciting, and rewarding all at the same time. It’s been an interesting journey full of twists and turns for Justine, but she is definitely seeing the rewards!
