For six months, Connex Credit Union will be working closely with five participants to see who can become the most fiscally fit to win a $3,000 grand prize. Each participant has been paired with a Connex Financial Advocate who will offer real-world, practical advice on how to reduce debt, build savings, and many other helpful financial tips and advice. Connex received over 100 applications for the fourth annual ConneXfactor competition! Below is our update on Kayla P.

Kayla P.: What Money Can’t Buy

Coach: Sherry Costa, Orange Assistant Branch Manager

Kayla continues to embrace her participation in the ConneXfactor competition.   She is enjoying the challenge and continues to be diligent in finding new ways to save.

She was recently provided with a plane ticket to Florida to surprise her Dad for Father’s Day.  Even though she will be away on a quick vacation, she plans to stay on track with her spending and resist the temptation to buy anything frivolous.  She plans on just spending quality time with her Dad at the beach and taking long walks in the sand.  Money can’t buy priceless experiences like this!  IMG_5237

Each time I meet with Kayla I can see her excitement grow, and she wants to work even harder to achieve her goals.  Not to say there have not been some challenges along the way, but she is definitely keeping her eye on the prize and staying focused.

Kayla is on a journey to improve her financial situation, and I am very proud and honored to be a part of her journey to a brighter financial future.
