What to Do When You’re Snowed In

snow

This past weekend, Connecticut got blanketed with over 3 feet of snow thanks to the blizzard Nemo. So while we were stuck in our houses for a few days, we thought of some great ways to Unbank and prevent cabin fever!

1. Start paying your bills through online banking,

Never worry again about paying your bills late by using Bill Pay through Online Banking! It’s easy and convenient to schedule automatic payments and perfect for when you are snowed in and can’t make it to the post office.

2. Doing taxes? Get refunded quicker through direct deposit!

While being snowed in, it might be a good idea to start working on your income taxes. To make that refund check come faster, sign up for direct deposit! To learn more on how to start an electronic tax refund click here.  You can even start using TurboTax for free without even leaving Connex Online Banking.

3. Have you been using your debit card frequently? Purchase some rewards.

Here at Connex we offer Purchase Rewards , which can put real money in your pocket when you use your debit card. All you need to have is an Online Banking account, a qualified checking account and you can start earning money at places you already shop. Many offers can be redeemed online and in-store.

4. Create a budget using FinanceWorks.

FinanceWorks is a resourceful tool apart of Online Banking that can help you track and manage your budget. You can set budget goals and create alerts and reminders to pay bills on time, and get updates on your account.

Of course you can do any of these no matter what type of weather is happening, but we thought these were good ideas to consume the time being snowed in.

Let’s hope we don’t see 3 more feet of snow any time soon!
