Many of you have probably heard of a flash mob: where groups of people randomly come into a choreographed dance in a public place.
Fun fact: I’ve participated in a flash mob! It was so much fun and priceless to see people’s reactions.
Anyways, it’s recently come to my attention that there are now cash mobs happening around the country.
What are cash mobs exactly? It’s when a group of people go to a small, local business and spend their money all at once to give the business owner a little bit of economic stimulus! They’re tagline is: We each do a little. We all do a lot.
How great is this?? I think it is such a good idea for local people to support a small business and help it gain some economic growth all while having a good time with friends.
Here in Connecticut, we have our own Cash Mob Connecticut. Each month they choose a town in New Haven County and take open suggestions on where the next cash mob should take place. A time and date is planned and boom! Cash Mob!
Cash Mob Connecticut says to grab $20 and head on down to a local business to show your support for the merchants in our community who make a difference.
Will you be trying out a cash mob? I think I will try to attend the next one!
