Most Useful Financial Smartphone Apps

There are hundreds of thousands of apps out there and sometimes it can be a little tricky navigating through all of that. Financial apps usually end up being ones that are the most useful. I have put together some of the most useful apps to help you with your finances. The best part about these apps is that they are all FREE!

MyHOME Scr.APP.book

ALL homeowners and renters with house/renters insurance need this App! This app is offered for free by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. MyHOME lets the user take photos of their possessions and track where they are by room. If you don’t remember what is destroyed in a kitchen fire you can pull up a list of items in your kitchen. The app has a few other useful tools such as exporting your list of items to a file you can then backup/e-mail for safe keeping. You can find out more about this useful app on Android and Apple.

Allpoint® – Surcharge-Free ATM

As a member of Connex you get access to the Allpoint ATM Network for FREE. They have over 43,000 ATMs in the world and over 400 ATMs in CT alone! With this app you simply need to enter your zip code and Allpoint will give you a list of all the ATMs nearby. You can even pull up directions and a street view of where the ATM is located. You can download this app for Android, Apple, or Blackberry.Please check with your financial institution if you are unsure if they are part of the Allpoint ATM Network.

Tip N Split Tip Calculator

Have you ever been out to eat with a group of friends and everyone ends up scratching their heads on what everyone owes for the bill and tip? The solution is here! With this handy tip calculator you can easily enter the bill amount, tip % you want to pay, and the number of people paying. Presto, you have the amount everyone owes, including tip! You can get the app on Android and Apple.

IRS2Go

This app is perfect for tax season. You can check the status of your return, get IRS alerts and tips sent to your phone, and read the IRS’s Twitter feed. This app is available to download on Android and Apple.

aCar

This app is perfect for people who frequently go on business trips or just forget to get an oil change. With aCar you can enter multiple vehicles and track mileage, expenses, fill-ups, and get maintenance reminders based on your mileage. There is a Pro version available for a small fee that allows the user to export their data to excel, but the free version has plenty of useful features. This app is currently only available on Android.
