If you haven’t heard of Groupon yet, here’s your tip-off:
Groupon is a website that offers consumer deals-of-the-day at local businesses, boasting at least 50% savings to consumers when they visit.
A recent article in the New Haven Register encourages readers to take advantage of Groupon deals, stating that “In the 20 months since Groupon has been in business, it has attracted more than 13 million subscribers and claims to have saved consumers close to a billion dollars.” With figures like that, families and individuals looking to save a buck might benefit a lot from social commerce sites like Groupon, LivingSocial and others. Groupon and LivingSocial tries to make saving easier offering free mobile apps allowing consumers to display the voucher on the screen to show them to the businesses to redeem.
Do you use Groupon and LivingSocial to take advantage of too-good-to-pass-up deals?
